Design and Technology – Electrical Systems 

During DT lessons, pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 have been busy researching, designing and creating interactive cards using their knowledge of electrical circuits.

Design Brief

Design and produce an interactive Christmas card for pre-school children incorporating simple electrical systems to add excitement, such as: lights, buzzers, motors and/or switches.

Design Criteria

* The design must contain a series or parallel circuit.

* Use a low-voltage battery for safety.

* Components should be hidden within the card to avoid loose wires or hazards.

* Designs should be visually appealing for the target market.

This afternoon, they shared their final products with Reception pupils to see if their interactive card met the last bullet point of  the design criteria.
